Edward Elgar is best known for his powerful compositions for large orchestra, but he took an active interest in writing part-songs for choir. The Ahmadi Music Group choir will perform the song cycle “From the Bavarian Highlands”, composed in response to a happy vacation in Germany, and three other songs, The Snow, Spanish Serenade, and Fly Singing Bird.
The beautiful new Al-Yarmouk Cultural Centre opened this year, as successor to the much-missed Maiden Centre, which was retired last year after decades of service. Come and see this beautiful new feature of the cultural landscape in Kuwait and enjoy this emotive and powerful Music.
The concert will take place on Wednesday 4 November at 7:00 pm, and thanks to the generosity of Dar al Athaar al Islamiyyah and the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters, it is free to the public. Seating is first-come, first-served, no reservations are necessary. We look forward to seeing you there.
